Waterproofing a 400 cubic meter cistern tank is a high-stakes engineering challenge. At this scale, the hydrostatic pressure is immense, and even a minor failure can lead to catastrophic water loss or structural degradation. To eliminate the risk of "backjobs" (costly re-work), ZTATIK Engineering and Services partnered with Buildrite to implement a full-system solution for a project in Tacloban.

The strategy involved a "belt and braces" approach, treating both the positive side (the surface in direct contact with water) and the negative side (the exterior/opposite side of the wall) to ensure total containment.

The technical system utilized a specialized array of Buildrite technologies:
• Emergency Leak Termination: Buildrite Leak Plug was used to instantly seal any active seepage points or honeycombs discovered during the initial inspection.
• Crystalline Technology: Buildrite Crystor was applied to the concrete substrate. This material penetrates deep into the concrete pores, reacting with moisture to grow non-soluble crystals that permanently block water pathways from within.
• Potable Water Protection: For the internal lining, Buildrite Blockout ETL was utilized. This epoxy-based coating is specifically designed for drinking water contact, providing a seamless, non-toxic, and chemical-resistant barrier.
• Moisture & Joint Management: Buildrite Epocoat MB acted as the moisture barrier primer, while Sapal 2-in-1 was used as a flexible sealant for joints and penetrations to accommodate structural movement.
• Exterior Shield: Buildrite Clever Sil was applied to the external surfaces to provide an elastic, weather-resistant membrane that prevents groundwater or rain from ingress through the negative side.

By combining crystalline penetration with high-performance coatings, ZTATIK Engineering ensured that this 400-cubic-meter infrastructure is leak-proof and structurally protected for decades. Buildrite provided on-site technical assistance throughout the application to guarantee that every product was applied to the highest industrial standards.
