Function rooms require a delicate balance of industrial durability and high-end interior aesthetics. In Dumaguete City, MJB Konstruct showcased a creative and cost-effective way to achieve a designer floor finish by layering Buildrite’s structural coatings with decorative elements.

Instead of a standard solid-color floor, the contractor utilized the "Gray" pigment of the moisture barrier as the base color and transformed it into a decorative "flake" floor. This system is popular in modern commercial spaces because it hides surface imperfections and provides a multi-dimensional look.

The "Clever" Application Process:
• The Colored Foundation: Buildrite Epocoat MB (Gray) was applied first. While its primary technical job is to act as a moisture barrier to prevent future peeling, its gray tint served as the uniform base color for the design.
• The Decorative Element: While the coating was still "tacky," decorative flakes were broadcasted across the surface. This adds texture and visual interest, making the floor look like premium terrazzo or granite.
• The High-Gloss Shield: To lock the flakes in and provide a smooth, easy-to-clean surface, Buildrite Epocoat FCH (Clear) was applied as the final topcoat. This high-build epoxy provides a "mirror finish" that protects the design from scratches and foot traffic.

Why this system works for Function Rooms:
• Aesthetic Appeal: The combination of the gray base and clear glossy finish creates a sophisticated, spacious feel suitable for events and gatherings.
• Impact and Abrasion Resistance: The "FCH" (High-Build) formulation is much thicker than standard floor paint, offering superior protection against the movement of tables, chairs, and high-heeled shoes.
• Moisture Protection: Since many function rooms are on the ground floor, the Epocoat MB ensures that the beautiful finish won't be ruined by moisture rising from the soil.
