Project Reference

Building a swimming pool is one of the most challenging tasks in construction because the structure is under constant hydrostatic pressure. For a commercial pool project in Sarangani Province, Regino Engineering Design decided to move away from their previous "popular" waterproofing brands. Having dealt with the frustration of client complaints and costly "back jobs" (re-work) caused by leaks, Engr. Joel Regino and Arch. Rayel Era sought a more reliable, professional-grade system.

Buildrite provided a full-cycle solution, replacing their entire previous workflow with a synchronized system of products designed specifically for submerged environments.

The Buildrite Multi-Stage Pool System:
• Integral Protection: During the concrete pouring of the pool shell, Buildrite Ritemix IWL (Integral Waterproofing Liquid) was added to the mix. This reduces the permeability of the concrete from within, closing off capillary pores to prevent water migration through the walls and floor.
• Crystalline Waterproofing: For the secondary barrier, Buildrite Crystor was applied. This reactive coating penetrates deep into the concrete. In the presence of moisture, it grows crystals that permanently plug pores and hairline cracks, effectively making the concrete itself the primary water barrier.
• Joint and Leak Intervention: Any active seepages or high-risk construction joints were treated with Buildrite Leakplug, a rapid-setting hydraulic cement that stops water flow in seconds.
• High-Performance Tiling: To ensure the pool tiles never "pop" or debond under water pressure, Buildrite Tile Grip was used for installation, followed by Buildrite Tileseal for grouting. This combination provides the flexibility and chemical resistance needed to withstand treated pool water.

Why this system ended the cycle of "Back Jobs":
• Redundancy: By combining integral (internal) and crystalline (surface) waterproofing, the pool has multiple layers of defense.
• Hydrostatic Resistance: Unlike standard membranes that can peel off over time, Buildrite Crystor becomes an integral part of the concrete structure.
• Technical Assistance: Buildrite provided on-site guidance to the Regino Engineering team, ensuring that the application methodology was as high-quality as the products themselves.

By switching to a dedicated pool system, Regino Engineering Design delivered a stunning, leak-free commercial facility, restoring their clients' confidence and ensuring long-term operational success in Sarangani.
