Another roof deck was saved from a faulty flexible cementitious waterproofing system! In this project, a residential house in Poblacion Ibajay, Aklan, was suffering from persistent leaks caused by a failed waterproofing application.

According to the owner, Den Sabilano, the previously used "flexible cementitious membrane" caused recurring headaches. They were forced to reapply new layers every few months due to frequent leaks, leading to a build-up of ineffective material. Finally, they decided it was time for a permanent fix.

This is where we stepped in to provide a professional-grade solution. The rehabilitation process required the labor-intensive removal of several layers of the old, failed membrane to expose the bare concrete. Once the surface was prepared, we used Buildrite Leak Plug to seal active seepage and cracks, followed by the application of Buildrite Flexicrete.

Because Flexicrete is a specialized flexible cementitious waterproofing membrane designed for heavy-duty protection, it requires a topping to shield it from direct UV exposure and mechanical wear. By following this system—waterproofing followed by a protective topping—the owner now has a roof deck that is built to last, ending the cycle of constant repairs.
