Can you apply an epoxy tank lining over a tiled cistern tank? This was the challenge faced during the repair of a 140sqm cistern tank at a medical center in the Bicol region.

Because the facility management preferred to keep the existing tiles intact to save on demolition time and waste, a specialized solution was required. A private construction firm reached out to our technical team to determine if a durable, leak-proof lining could be achieved without tile removal.

With the guidance of our technical experts, the team applied Buildrite Epocoat Mb followed by Buildrite Blockout Etl directly over the tiled surface. Buildrite Blockout Etl is specifically designed for tank linings, providing a seamless, food-grade (non-toxic) barrier that is essential for water storage.

After the application was completed and the flood test was conducted, the system proved to be a total success. The client was highly satisfied that the tank was fully rehabilitated and watertight without the need for a messy and expensive demolition process.
