Project Reference
Standard latex paints and concrete sealers are excellent for protection, but they often mask the raw, industrial aesthetic of a concrete wall. When the goal is to retain the natural texture and color of the substrate, standard coatings often fall short.
Architect Reynald P. David sought to achieve a specific "natural concrete" look for a project in Quezon City. To accomplish this, the team applied Buildrite Skim Coat (Gray), which provides a smooth, uniform gray finish that mimics the appearance of raw poured concrete.
To ensure this aesthetic would last without being damaged by water or weathering, Buildrite Silox 101 was applied as the protective topcoat. Unlike traditional sealers that create a shiny or plastic-like film, Silox 101 is a water-dilutable, silicone-based emulsion that penetrates deep into mineral substrates like concrete, brick, and stone.
By chemically reacting with the substrate, it creates a hydrophobic (water-repellent) barrier while drying to a completely matte finish. This allows the wall to stay protected from moisture and staining while perfectly preserving its original, natural appearance.
